Episode 97: This Is My Beard Hunter, If You’ll Pardon The Expression OR Beware the Codpiece!

Huzzah!

They've done it again! A new blog post from Mike and Paul! Here's the Podbean description:
Mike and Paul return with an all new episode of WFD, featuring the escalation and secret history of a generational war, a new team member, and one of the strangest (and saddest?) villains: Codpiece! LET'S GET PATROLLING!

As first appearances go, this one is not yet burning up the aftermarket.
Here's the imagery from Doom Patrol (v2) #70

Doom Patrol could be a legacy book.

Just what IS the Doom Patrol?

And the stuff from DP #71
Another Tom Taggart masterpiece.
Anyone else find it interesting to have a story titled "The Fox and the Crow" in a Doom Patrol series?
Anyone know why I find that interesting?
The Chief being his Chiefiest.

Oh, she's a feisty one, this Coagula.

Cliff's just having one of those days.

Derington by Way of Bonvillain
In order to get caught up, here's some Tweets that sum up the time between last post and this post from

From Derington. . .

. . .by Way. . .

. . .of Bonvillain.
I'm not sure if the visual style from the Star Wars Adventures carries in to the inside (interesting that Disney recognizes IDW's strength in the all ages market), but I like what I see.

Question of the Week
What Doom Patrol character (from any run) would you like to see in a spotlight issue?

Episode 96: One of Three Things You’re Not Supposed to Discuss at a Party OR Covfefe, Anyone?

Didn't I just post one of these?

Anyway, better too many than too few, right? Mike and Paul got together again, this time to talk about DC Universe Decisions. Here's the rundown on the episode.

They say you shouldn't discuss sex, religion or politics at a party. Yet we've already kind of ventured into one of those (thanks Rachel Pollack), so let's keep breaking social norms at this Doom Patrol party because a Doom Patrol party don't stop unless of course you bring up politics.... err, I mean...LETS GET PATROLLING!
Down on Derington Way - 7:00
Doom Clock - 9:48
Doomsplaining - 14:00 - This week we take a look at the 'DC Universe Decisions' miniseries from 2008, written Bill Willingham and Judd Winick, with art by Rick Leonardi and Howard Porter.
Mailbag O Doom - 35:14 - We read your responses to the question, "Which fictional character would you want running your country?"

So here's the images of this week's masterwork, courtesy of Mr. Hix himself.

Robotman disguised as Manman.

Take a drink.

Keep drinking.

Remember when the JLA disappeared for a bit? This would have made for a solid replacement team.

Jericho!

The green animal constructs had me thinking Beast Boy, but not so much.

Fifth richest man in the world is also a bike courier.

Me too.

And, while we're talking about political stuff, doesn't covfefe seem like something that happened in Doom Patrol?

Derington Way

As the guys mentioned, here's the post of the Chief peeking in on you.

And, as also mentioned, Brick by Brick is out That's right, the first Young Animal trade of the Doom Patrol's adventures is waiting for you to pick it up. And it has some lovely extras, like more Who's Who pages.

Updated!

And, if you're ordering it, you might want to pre-order The Silver Age Doom Patrol Omnibus. I'm not sure if this is the final art, but I dig it.

I presume, given his recent run on these Silver Age covers, that this is the work of Michael Cho. If you can confirm or correct, please do.

Here's your Question of the Week:

Who is your fave character that hangs out with a team, but is not in the team?

As mentioned elsewhere, there are MANY correct answers. Terry Long is NOT one of them.

Episode 95: JLMay 2017 - JUSTICE Part 11 OR It's Not Perfect, But It's the Best We Got.

Since they did so well with last year's JLMay event, the boys were invited back. Here's the rundown for the latest episode, right from WilFreD's databanks
The penultimate episode of the JLMay 2017 crossover is here, and we're joined by the constantly caffeinated Clinton Robison, of the Coffee & Comics blog and podcast! LETS GET PATROLLING!
  • Down on Derington Way - 9:33
  • Doom Clock - 14:40
  • Doomsplaining - 17:41 - The JLMay crossover event returns for 2017, and this year we looking at the 2005 series "JUSTICE", by Jim Krueger, Alex Ross, and Doug Braithwaite! Mike, Paul and Clinton discuss issue 11 of the series - and you should head over to the Justice's First Dawn podcast for the finale!
  • Mailbag O Doom - 56:25 - We read your responses to the question, "What is your favourite Justice League story?"

I loves me some Justice. And some Justice League. And some Alex Ross. I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to this JLMay event, but as y'all may have heard, I have a wonderfully short commute (3 miles), so I'm catching up on the event, but I figured I'd skip ahead, rewind, and then listen to the whole thing from where I'm at now. Y'know, like listening to your favorite song on a cassette tape.

Anyway, enough about me. Let's get to why y'all are really here. Here's the imagery.

FIST BUMP!

Creator cred.

Justice was not built with Guided View Reading in mind.

See? Guided view clips Rita right out.

See? Right there.

The two Flashes that would headline team-ups with the Doom Patrol in the pages of The Brave & The Bold

Here's some more Alex Ross from this here blog, oddly enough, all about Justice

And before I sign off, here's some more doodles from Nick Derington's Twitter

Just another Wednesday for the Doom Patrol.

That's a lot of red.

And here's the visuals from Doom Patrol #69.

Tom Taggart bringing the goods.

Victory to the Fox!

Of course.

That jacket.

Looks like weirdness for weirdness' sake to me.

Down on Derington Way
The guys mentioned the Mister Miracle cover that Nick Derington drew. That was in the previous post (go ahead, click, but come back), so I suppose y'all want more?

Well, never let it be said that Nick Derington disappoints, because he sure as heck does not disappoint. Here's some more Scott Free for ya:

And some extra bits.

Derington's a GREAT Twitter follow, as his creativity doesn't stop with pencil and paper. Give him a looksee

Question of the Week

What is your fave Justice League story? Because, y'know, it's JLMay.
